Khyati is a physiotherapist, educator, and researcher specialising in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, sports injuries and biomechanics. After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy, Khyati completed a Master’s in Clinical Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, India. She practised as an MSK physiotherapist in India for several years before moving to the United Kingdom to pursue her second Master’s in Research (in Spinal Pain) at the University of Birmingham’s Centre of Precision Rehabilitation for Spinal Pain. There, Khyati had the privilege to be part of one of the most esteemed teams of researchers in the world.
Khyati has extensive clinical experience, having worked as a Lead Physiotherapist at the Sancheti Institute of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation in Pune, which is the largest super-speciality orthopaedic hospital in India. There, she managed complex musculoskeletal and sports injury cases, led a physiotherapy team and provided on-field rehabilitation for athletes. She is skilled in manual therapy, neurodynamic techniques, Pilates, core training, and sport-specific rehabilitation.
Alongside her clinical expertise, Khyati is a Lecturer at Coventry University, where she delivers lectures and practical sessions across modules such as Foundations of Clinical Physiotherapy, Functional Anatomy, Functional Analysis of Human Performance and Advanced Research Skills. Her teaching integrates biomechanics, motor performance analysis, and evidence-based rehabilitation along with foundational knowledge.
Her research spans technology-assisted assessment and rehabilitation, including projects on the reliability of smartphone sensors in assessing neck motion, neural mobilisation techniques in lumbar radiculopathy, and the impact of multitasking using smartphones on gait. She has presented her work at international conferences, including the European Society of Biomechanics (2024) in Edinburgh, Scotland and has published in peer-reviewed journals such as IJPHY and International Journal of Current Research and Review.
Khyati is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and has received multiple academic scholarships for excellence in physiotherapy. She is passionate about bridging research and clinical practice, fostering inclusivity, and advancing physiotherapy through innovation in rehabilitation science and clinical practice. Apart from her academic and clinical profile Khyati is interested in outdoor activities like hiking, trekking, badminton and is an avid reader and loves to paint and sketch.
