Specialist Knowledge in Treating Performers
Mastering an instrument or a dancing technique takes long hours of practice, discipline, concentration and physical ability. Performers are often challenged by highly competitive environments, stresses of extensive travel, performance anxiety but most importantly physical pain which may emerge following an injury. Having worked with performers for more than 30 years we have a solid understanding of performance related injuries and how to treat them. We feel that the most important element of a performer’s rehabilitation journey is an accurate diagnosis.
Identification of contributing factors associated with the problem is also vital (e.g. choreography requirements, technique, posture, costumes, volume of practice etc.), therefore, we may ask you to bring your instrument or a video of your performance so we can assist our examination. We treat a variety of performers including musicians, dancers, circus performers, actors and puppeteers. Our highly experienced physiotherapists use evidence-based hands on techniques, and exercise programmes specifically tailored to meet the needs of each performer.
We take pride in being recognised by BAPAM as a clinic with specialist knowledge in treating performers. If you are experiencing performance related injuries you can contact our friendly team to find out how we can help you.
