Geoffrey is an advanced physiotherapist and a researcher specialising in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy and has a vast range of clinical experience in orthopaedics, older adult care, sports injuries, and modern acupuncture.

After completing his bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy, his passion for expanding his knowledge and skills has led to the completion of two master’s degrees including a Master of Science in Sports Medicine and Health Science at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Master’s in Manipulative Physiotherapy (with distinction) at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Before moving to the UK, Geoffrey served patients in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the largest major acute hospital in Hong Kong, where he gained valuable experience in the musculoskeletal and neurological outpatient units. To further expand his therapeutic skills Geoffrey attended and completed his training in Acupuncture at Guangzhou University Hospital which is considered one of the highest-ranking medical facilities in China. The in-depth understanding of Acupuncture theory and practice has become a valuable adjunct in Geoffrey’s toolbox for the treatment of various musculoskeletal conditions.

Geoffrey’s persistent academic excellence landed him the award of a renowned scholarship from the University of Birmingham Hong Kong Foundation, which currently supports him in pursuing a PhD in Sports, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences.

Apart from his clinical work, Geoffrey works as a researcher at the University of Birmingham’s prestigious Centre of Precision Rehabilitation for Spinal Pain (CPR Spine). His research there is focused on neuropathic pain management and the prevention of neck and back pain recurrence.

Geoffrey enjoys playing the piano and the acoustic guitar. He has an interest in treating performance-related injuries as his involvement with music enabled him to better understand the physical and psychological impact of musculoskeletal injuries on performers.
